Thoros of Myr says, "According to prophecy, our champion will be reborn to wake dragons from stone and reforge the great sword Lightbringer that defeated the darkness those thousands of years ago.
Throughout the story, the Mother has been associated with Catelyn, now Lady Stoneheart.
The Father was on the bottom, the first to fall." Arya's Father, Ned Stark, was the first in the family to die, having been executed in King's Landing. A long sword had been thrust through her heart, and its leather grip was alive with flame. The Mother seemed almost to shudder as the flames came licking up her face. In A Clash of Kings, we read this passage: "The Maiden lay athwart the Warrior, her arms widespread as if to embrace him. (Arya regularly laments the loss of everyone she knows and loves: her father, her mother, her siblings, her dire wolves, and her connection to Jon Snow.) We learn that during the Long Night, we learn that at least some of the Last Hero's friends may have only abandoned him. (Arya ponders exactly this as she sails into Braavos.) That the Last Hero searched for a long time, and one by one his friends died, and his horse, and finally even his dog (Nymeria dies? The Hound dies?), and then his sword froze so hard the blade snapped when he tried to use it. Old Nan's stories indicate the following: that the last hero was determined to seek out the children, in the hopes that their ancient magics could win back what the armies of men had lost. In Braavos, she steps through the smoke of the morning and can smell the salt in the air. Then the mists give way before the Titan's Daughter. She recalls her friends leaving her, or being taken from her. She remembers her family, remembers her father's warning about the lone wolf dying while the pack survives. When Arya starts her new identity, or her new lack of identity, she is being reborn as " Salty" from the " Saltpans." As she approaches Braavos aboard the Titan's Daughter, she spots the Titan of Braavos, and recalls Old Nan's tales of how the Titan would wake with fire in his eyes. The legend of Azor Ahai tells us that after a long Summer, Azor Ahai will be reborn amidst smoke and salt wielding the flaming sword Lightbringer to defend the world from R'hllor's nemesis, the Other.
